At TheAnime.News, we want our readers to be able to come here for anime, manga and Japanese pop culture coverage without having to wonder how much of what they’re reading is actually true. Our goal is pretty simple: publish useful, interesting and timely stories while being honest about where the information comes from. We care about accuracy, but we also want the site to feel like it was written by people who genuinely enjoy this stuff.
What We Cover
Our main focus is Japanese entertainment and culture, so that means anime, manga, voice actors, creators, publishers, industry news, events and the occasional bit of fandom chaos that comes with all of it. Japanese pop culture is where our attention naturally stays, although we’ll sometimes cover Western games, shows or other entertainment when there’s a good reason and it overlaps with what our readers are interested in.
We’re not trying to cover everything on the internet. There are already plenty of places doing that.
Accuracy Matters
We make every effort to get our information right before publishing. We don’t want misleading headlines, made-up details or articles stretched out just to squeeze a few more clicks from readers.
For stories published as News, we rely on information that can be checked against legitimate sources. That includes official announcements from publishers, licensors, studios, streaming services, industry companies and verified social media accounts. When something hasn’t actually been confirmed, we don’t want to present it as though it has.
That sounds obvious, but it is worth saying.
Reviews, Features and Opinions
Not everything we publish is straight news, and we don’t pretend it is.
Along with news stories, TheAnime.News publishes reviews, lists, explainers, deeper features and opinion pieces. These articles can be more personal and conversational because they’re written from the perspective of individual contributors. A reviewer might love a show that someone else can’t stand, and that’s fine. We’re not trying to make everyone have the same opinion.
News reporting is kept separate from that kind of commentary, so readers can tell when they’re reading confirmed information and when they’re reading someone’s personal take.
Our Tone
For news, we aim to keep things clear, professional and easy to follow. We don’t need to make every headline sound like the world is ending, and we don’t want our articles buried under unnecessary jargon.
Our reviews and features can be more relaxed. They may sound more like a conversation between people who actually watch anime and argue about it afterward. That’s intentional. Different kinds of stories call for different voices.
Content Warnings and Mature Topics
Some of the subjects we cover can be pretty dark, whether we’re talking about real-world events or mature themes in anime and manga. We don’t glorify criminal or violent behavior, and when an article deals with particularly disturbing material, we’ll make that clear before the main content begins.
If an article contains mature text or imagery that some readers may not want to encounter unexpectedly, we’ll place a warning near the beginning so people can decide whether they want to continue.
Sponsored Content and Advertising
From time to time, we may work with brands, companies or other partners on sponsored articles or paid promotions, but we don’t want readers guessing about whether a piece is commercial.
Sponsored posts, paid partnerships and affiliate content will be clearly labeled. The point is simple: readers should know when they’re looking at editorial coverage and when there is a commercial relationship involved.
News Tips and Guest Pitches
We are always open to hearing from readers, freelancers and people working around the anime and manga industry.
If you send us a genuine, verifiable news tip that we haven’t covered, we may publish a story based on it and credit you where appropriate. We also accept pitches for guest articles and other contributed pieces, although each submission is considered individually.
Some accepted contributions may be eligible for compensation or other editorial arrangements depending on the piece and the circumstances.

Corrections and Editorial Quality
We proofread and review articles before publication because small errors are annoying and bigger ones can undermine an entire story. That said, mistakes can still happen. We’re human, after all.
If you notice a factual mistake, typo or something that doesn’t look right in one of our articles, please let us know. We’ll review the issue and, when a correction is necessary, update the article as soon as reasonably possible.
